Eastern Spices

If you go down the Service Road in Edapally, you’ll find us at number 3. We’ve been here at Eastern Spices for quite some time. The smell hits you before you even get to the door. We spend our days sorting, cleaning, and packing different spices. It’s a lot of work and our hands always smell like cardamom or pepper. We don't have a big factory with robots. It’s just a few of us sitting around tables, making sure everything looks right. The shop is a bit dusty because of all the powders, but that’s just part of the job. We get our stuff from local growers mostly. Sometimes the shipments are late and we have to wait around, but we don't mind too much. It gives us time to have some tea and talk about the day. We don't do fancy packaging with bright colors or big logos. We just put them in clear bags so you can see what you’re getting. The traffic on the service road can be a nightmare in the evenings, so we usually try to get our heavy lifting done early in the morning. We aren't trying to sell you a dream, just good ingredients for your kitchen. Most of our customers are just people from the neighborhood who’ve been coming to us for years. It’s a simple business and we like it that way. We just keep doing our thing.
