Arihant Spices

Mattancherry is where we are based, specifically at Vii/433. If you know this part of town, you know it’s famous for the spice trade and has a lot of history. Our building is right in the thick of it. Every day, the air around here smells like black pepper, ginger, and turmeric. It’s a very old area with narrow streets, so getting things in and out can be a bit of a challenge sometimes. We spend most of our time weighing out spices and packing them into bags. It’s a manual process for the most part, and our hands usually end up smelling like spices by the end of the day. We don't have a modern showroom or anything. It’s just a traditional space where we store the sacks and do the basic processing. Sometimes it gets quite crowded in the alleyways with all the tourists and the local loaders, but that is just how Mattancherry is. We’ve been here for a while and we just do our work without making much of a fuss. People from around the neighborhood come by when they need something fresh. We keep the inventory moving so nothing sits on the shelf for too long. It’s a honest way to earn a living, even if it’s a bit dusty and loud outside our door most of the time. You can find the shop easily by asking any of the local vendors nearby.
