About Rangapata Farmers Producer Company Limited – Agriculture & Farming in Khordha
We set up Rangapata Farmers Producer Company Limited at Basanti Nayak’s place in Jiranga. It’s a small village, and word travels fast here. Most of us are farmers who realized that working alone was getting harder every year. We don't have a fancy website or a marketing team. It’s just a group of people who know how to grow crops. We spend our days out in the fields and our evenings talking about grain prices. Jiranga is a quiet spot, and we like it that way. Being a producer company means we can buy things like fertilizer in bulk, which saves us a few rupees. It’s not a glamorous life. My hands are usually dirty, and we worry about the rain a lot. We don’t have any big corporate goals. We just want to make sure our harvest gets sold for a fair price. Sometimes we have meetings under the big tree to decide what to do next. It’s all very informal. We use what we have and don’t waste much. If someone’s tractor breaks, we all help out. That’s the kind of place this is. Basanti’s house is where we keep the records. It’s a bit disorganized sometimes, but we know where everything is. We are just local people trying to make the farm work for us and our families. It’s a lot of sweat and hoping for a good season. The village life is steady, but the markets are always moving. We just try to keep up. Some of the older folks in Jiranga were skeptical at first, but they see how it helps now. We don't have all the answers, but we are learning.
