Prakruti Mitra Farmer Producer Company Limited

Our office is at House Number 10 in the village of Narisho. We are part of the Balipatna block in Khordha district. This company, Prakruti Mitra, was started by farmers around here because we needed a better way to manage our work. We aren't some big city firm. Most of us spend our days in the fields and come to the office in the evenings to talk shop. The address is pretty easy to find if you're in Narisho. We handle things like seeds, fertilizers, and figuring out where to send our produce. It’s a lot of talking and trying to agree on things. Sometimes we argue, but that’s just how it goes when everyone cares about their livelihood. Orissa has its challenges, but the soil here is good if you treat it right. We don’t have a website or anything fancy like that. Just this small space where we keep our books. We try to help the smaller farmers in our group get a fair price. It’s hard work and the sun is hot most days. We drink a lot of tea and try to stay on top of the paperwork. The Khordha area is where we all live and work. We aren't looking to expand into some giant corporation. We just want our community to do okay. If the crops are good, we are happy. That’s the long and short of it for us at H. No. 10.
