Perfect Farmers Producer Company Limited started because we wanted to do something together as farmers. We run the business out of Rabinarayan Patra’s place in Dimisar, Odagaon. It’s not like a regular office you’d see in a big town. It’s more of a meeting spot where we all come to talk about the harvest and how we’re going to sell what we grow. We handle everything ourselves, from the paperwork to loading the bags. It can be a bit disorganized sometimes because we are farmers first and business people second. But we know the soil here and we know what works in Odagaon. There are days when we sit around for hours just trying to figure out the government forms. It’s not always easy keeping everyone on the same page, but we try our best. We don't have a big budget for fancy things, so we just use what we have. Sometimes the power goes out and we have to finish our work by candlelight or just wait until the next morning. It’s a group effort, really. Everyone puts in a bit of time when they aren't busy with their own fields. We just want to make sure the people in our community have a way to get their produce out to the market without too much trouble.
