Maa Kamala Farmers Producer Company Limited is situated in the town of Jeypore, right in the Koraput district of Orissa. Our address is on Khala Street in the Parabeda area. Koraput is a beautiful place with all the hills, but life here is pretty grounded and focused on the soil. We spend our days working out of this small spot in Jeypore, where the air is a bit cooler than the coastal parts of the state. Khala Street is a regular residential and commercial mix, and Parabeda is a neighborhood most people in town know well. We do not have any big signs or flashy marketing materials stuck to the walls. It is just a place where the local farmers come together to manage the producer company. Most of the people you will see here are wearing dusty boots or carrying samples from their fields. We deal with a lot of different crops depending on what the season allows. Jeypore is a hub for the farmers in the district, so being located here makes sense for everyone. We have been at this location for a while, and the neighbors are used to seeing us hauling sacks or sitting around a table going over the books. It is a very practical, no-nonsense environment. We do not have a mission statement on the wall; we just have a calendar and some ledgers. It is just a group of us trying to keep things moving for the local growers.
