Kichakeswari Farmer Producer Company Limited

We’re over here at Sundhibila, Maudi. The office is at Sarojini Patra’s place, Plot 216. Mostly, it’s just us farmers trying to figure things out together. The roads around here can be a bit rough during the rains, but we make it work. Kichakeswari Farmer Producer Company Limited started because everyone was doing their own thing and it was getting harder to handle the costs of seeds and tools. Now, we just pool what we have. It’s not fancy. You won’t find any big signs or glass windows. Just a bunch of us sitting around talking about the soil and what the market is doing this week. Sometimes we get together in the evenings when the sun goes down and it’s a bit cooler to talk. Sarojini’s place is easy to find if you know the area. We’ve been here a while now. Some days are slow, especially when the harvest is still a ways off. Other times, everyone is rushing around trying to get bags loaded and moved out. It’s loud and dusty then. We don’t have a big staff or anything, just neighbors helping neighbors. Most of us have known each other since we were kids. It’s better than working alone, though. We try to keep things simple and honest. If a tractor breaks down, someone usually knows how to fix it without making a big deal. That’s just how it is in Sundhibila. We’re just local people doing what we’ve always done.
