Ajita Shakti Producer Company Limited is based over at Mig 131 in Baramunda. We aren’t some big corporate group with fancy offices and people in suits. It is just a handful of us here, mostly local folks who grew up around this part of Orissa. The office is really just a regular room where we keep our records and talk to the farmers who come by. Being in Baramunda, we get all kinds of weather, and that really dictates how our week is going to go. If the rain is heavy, things slow down a bit and we spend more time on the paperwork. We started this because we saw how hard it was for individual producers to get a fair shake in the market. It isn’t always easy work and some days are definitely longer than others. We don’t have a big marketing team or a mission statement on the wall. We just show up and do what needs to be done for the season. You might see us unloading stuff or just sitting out front when it gets too hot inside. It’s a practical business. We deal with real products and real people every day. There are no secrets here, just the daily grind of making sure the produce moves where it needs to go. Sometimes the phones don't work right or the truck is late, but we just figure it out. That's just how life is for us at Mig 131.
