Achinha Baba Farmers Producer Company Limited

Our company is based in Ratapat, which is also known as Gopapur, in the Badamba area of Cuttack. We have a plot number, 3016/10547, where we keep our main office. It’s a local effort by farmers in this part of Orissa. We chose the name Achinha Baba. Most of us here have been farming for as long as we can remember. We grow paddy and some vegetables too. Being a producer company means we can buy things like fertilizer in bulk, which saves us some money. It also helps when we have to sell what we grow. Instead of one person trying to find a buyer, we do it together. It’s not always easy to get everyone to agree on things. We have a lot of long talks under the trees. Our setup is very basic. We don't have a secretary or a fancy phone system. If you want to talk to us, you usually have to come down to the plot or find one of us in the fields. We’re just regular people. We worry about the rain and the pests just like everyone else. We started this because we wanted a better way to manage our work. It's been a slow process, but we're getting there. We aren't looking to expand all over the country. We just care about our own fields and our neighbors here in Badamba. We do our best to make it work every single day.
