Our place covers Plot No. 14 to 19, so it’s a fairly large stretch of space. Rainbow Aluminum Extrusion Co. is always a bit noisy because of the way we work with the metal. You can hear the machines from the road. It’s hot work, especially in the summer, but we’re used to it. The floor is usually covered in scraps and bits of aluminum that need to be cleared out. We don't have a fancy office for meetings; most of the talking happens right on the floor where the action is. We've got a crew that knows how to handle the presses and the cooling racks. It’s a routine that we’ve perfected over time. Some of the guys have been here since the start. We don't really put on a show for anyone. It's just a factory where we make things out of aluminum. Sometimes the orders are big and we have to work double shifts to keep up. Other times it's a bit slower and we spend the time cleaning or fixing the equipment. The address is simple to find once you are in the right block. We don't have any big mission statements or anything like that on the walls. Just some safety signs and the production schedule. It’s a straightforward way to earn a living, and we just keep at it day after day. It’s greasy and loud, but it’s what we do.
