K. D Engineering Works

If you head over to Phase-4 of the Gidc, you’ll find K. D Engineering Works near the big water tank. We are right opposite V. K Vikram Co. at Plot No 3312-11. It’s a typical engineering shop. We have lathes, welding gear, and all the usual tools scattered around the benches. It’s not the cleanest place in the world, as there’s always metal shavings on the floor and some oil, but it’s where we work. We take on repair jobs and small fabrication tasks. People from the other units in Gidc often drop by when they have a part that needs fixing or something custom made for their machines. We don't have a website or a sales team to call people. We just open the shutters in the morning and see what needs to be done. The heat in the workshop can get pretty intense in the summer months, especially when the welding torches are going all afternoon. We just drink plenty of water and keep at it. The guys here have been working with their hands for a long time and they know their stuff. We don't use a lot of fancy computerized systems; we rely more on experience and manual skill. It’s a small operation. We know the machines can be temperamental, so we spend a lot of time maintaining them ourselves. It's just honest engineering work. We’ve been at this spot for years and have seen the Gidc change quite a bit around us.
