Sebiya Tex

Up in Kamaraj Puram North, specifically at No. 41 Thiru Nagar, is where Sebiya Tex is located. It’s a quiet enough street. We have a small building where we handle all our textile work. It’s mostly just us and a few workers who have been with us for a while. We don't have any big signs or neon lights to attract attention. People in the neighborhood know us by now, so they just drop in. We spend our days surrounded by fabric rolls and sewing kits. The lighting inside is okay, though we sometimes have to move the tables closer to the windows when we are doing detailed work. We’ve got a small porch where we sit sometimes when it’s not too hot outside to take a breather. Most of our work is done on old-fashioned tables that have been here since we started the business. We don’t really see the point in changing things just for the sake of it. If it works, we keep using it until it breaks. The floor is concrete and we sweep it every evening before leaving for the night. Sometimes we get a bit behind on orders, but we always catch up eventually. It’s a modest way to earn a living. We don't have a big corporate structure or anything like that. It’s just a family-run kind of place. We value the relationships we have with the people who buy from us. It’s just a normal day for us at the workshop.
