We have been here at number 7 Ramakrishnapuram West for quite a long time now. The street outside is usually busy with people going to work or the market nearby. We work with all sorts of different fabrics here. Some are thick for upholstery and others are thin for making clothes. People often just drop by and ask if we have a specific color or type of material in stock. We try our best to keep everything organized but sometimes the rolls of cloth end up in big piles near the cutting table. My cousin helps me out when things get really hectic, especially during the festival seasons. It is not a very big or fancy place, just a regular workshop where we get things done. We spend most of our mornings checking the new stock that comes in from the suppliers. The lighting inside the shop isn't the best, but we have been here so long that we know where every single roll is kept. Most of our day is spent talking to regular customers or cutting pieces for specific orders. We do not have a front desk or a receptionist. If you come by, you will likely find us working in the back room with the scissors. Sometimes the tea guy stops by around 4 PM and that is when we take a short break to sit on the stools. We have had customers coming to us for years and they know we just do our work without making a big fuss.
