Our place is located at No. 8 C on 11th Cross in Sengunthapuram. If you know the area, it's pretty easy to spot. Karur Home Textiles Consortium Pvt. Ltd. sounds like a big mouthful of a name, but we are really just a group of people working with fabrics all day long. We deal with stuff for the house like curtains, table covers, and bedding. Most days involve a lot of lifting heavy bundles and checking the weave on different batches. It’s dusty work sometimes, and you’ll leave here with lint on your shirt for sure. We have a lot of different things going on at once because we are a consortium, which basically means a bunch of us joined up to handle the workload better. The office part is small and usually stacked with samples. We don't have a showroom with bright lights. It is more of a practical setup where we check the quality and get things packed into boxes. Sometimes the trucks struggle to get down the narrow cross streets, but we manage. We’ve been in Karur long enough to know how the market fluctuates. Some weeks are quiet and others we are running around like crazy trying to meet deadlines. We don't spend much time on the computer unless we absolutely have to for the paperwork. Mostly, we are looking at the thread counts and making sure the colors match what was asked for. It’s just what we do every day.
