We are located in Panipat, a place everyone knows for its history and its industries. The school building is tucked away from the main heavy traffic, but you can still hear the city life humming in the distance. We have a decent-sized area here. The grass on the field isn't always green, especially when the winter frost hits it, but it’s where most of the activity happens during the day. Inside, the corridors are wide. We have a lot of windows that look out over the neighborhood and the roofs of nearby houses. The desks are the standard metal and wood type, and some have names carved into them by students who were here years ago. Our staff is a mix of people who have lived in Panipat forever and some who commute from nearby towns. We spend our mornings checking the attendance and making sure the classrooms are ready for the lessons. The lunch break is usually the loudest time of the day. You can smell the different foods coming from the tiffin boxes in the canteen area. We don't have anything overly modern, just the usual computer room and a library with a few rows of books that have seen better days. The walls are mostly white, with some spots where the rain leaked through a bit last monsoon. It’s a very normal, everyday school for the families around here. We just get on with the work.
