S. K. Flyash Bricks

I’m writing from S. K. Flyash Bricks. We are over at 249 Karambavilai on Swamithoppu Road in Pottayadi. Most days here start early because the sun gets quite hot later on. The yard is usually full of bricks ready to go. It’s a dusty job, but someone has to do it. People often find us just by driving down the main road. We’ve been at this spot for a while now. It’s nothing fancy, just a lot of grey flyash and piles of finished blocks. Sometimes the trucks get stuck if the ground is soft after rain, which is a real pain. We spend a lot of time checking the stacks. You can see the dust on our clothes by noon. The neighbor’s dog usually hangs around the gate looking for scraps. It’s just how things are in this part of Pottayadi. We don't have a big office, just a small desk and some chairs where we sit to talk. Most of our work is outside in the open air. The traffic on Swamithoppu Road keeps things noisy but we got used to it. Every brick we make takes time to dry properly before it can leave. We keep an eye on the weather since too much water at the wrong time ruins everything. It’s basic work, really. We just show up, handle the materials, and try to keep things moving along day by day without too much trouble.
