Vijay Arts

Vijay Arts is tucked away in Office No. 107/10 K in Jawahar Nagar. We’re right by the Ukhri Railway Line, so you can hear the trains passing by pretty often throughout the day. It’s near Jarib Chowki, which is the main landmark people use to find us. The office isn't very big, and it’s usually packed with brushes, paints, and different boards we are working on. We do a lot of hand-painted stuff and local art projects. It’s a bit of an older building, and the walls could probably use a new coat of paint themselves. We don't really go for the corporate look here. It’s more of a workshop where we can actually get our hands dirty. Sometimes the dust from the railway line gets in, but we just wipe it off and keep going. We've been in Jawahar Nagar for quite a while now. Most people around here know us as the place near the tracks where they can get some art work done. It’s just a couple of us working together. We don't have any fancy mission statements or anything like that. We just show up, see what needs to be painted or designed, and we do it. It’s a simple way to earn a living, and we like being part of the neighborhood. The trains are a bit loud but you get used to the noise after the first week of working here.
