Nitin Bakers (P) Ltd. (Mother Bread)

Our bakery is located out in the Panki Site-5 Industrial Area in Kanpur. Being at B-22 means we are surrounded by a lot of other factories and warehouses, so there’s always a lot of dust and big trucks moving around outside. We start our work very early, usually when it’s still dark, to get the dough ready. It gets quite hot near the ovens, especially in the summer months. We don't have fancy air conditioning in the production area, just big fans that move the air around. Most of our day is spent mixing, kneading, and watching the timers. It’s a lot of heavy lifting with the flour sacks. We’ve been operating as Nitin Bakers for years, and people mostly know our Mother Bread brand from seeing the delivery vans around the city. The office side of things is pretty small, just a couple of desks with piles of paper and some old chairs. We focus more on the baking than the paperwork. Our floor workers have been with us for a long time, and we all just kind of know what to do without talking much. It’s a noisy, busy environment where everything smells like yeast and baked crust. Sometimes a machine breaks down and we have to spend the afternoon fixing it ourselves. It’s just honest work in a tough industrial part of Kanpur. We wrap the bread and get it onto the crates as fast as we can.
