Monu Caterers & Chinese Master

You can find us over on Chauki Road in Rajiv Nagar, which is part of the Yashoda Nagar area. Monu Caterers & Chinese Master is a bit of a mix of things. We have the big stoves and the heavy pots for the catering side, and then the woks for the Chinese food. The kitchen stays very hot, especially during the summer months when the air doesn't move much. There’s usually a pile of onions being chopped in one corner and some large containers of rice cooling down in another. It’s not a fancy restaurant with nice chairs; it’s more of a working kitchen where we get things ready for parties or people coming by for a quick meal. The walls are covered in a bit of soot from the high flames, and the floor can get slippery if we aren't careful. We use a lot of different spices and sauces, so the smell is always really strong, sticking to your clothes long after you leave. It’s a family-run kind of thing, so you’ll often see a few of us arguing about where a certain pot went or who forgot to order more oil. We stay busy with local orders from the neighborhood. It’s a lot of washing dishes and prep work that people don't see. We just try to get the food out on time and make sure it tastes like it’s supposed to without any extra drama.
