Nirmit Marbles

Nirmit Marbles is located at 133/23 A, O Block, right in the heart of the Marble Market in Kidwai Nagar. If you’ve ever been to this market, you know it’s a lot of heavy lifting and dust everywhere. We have slabs of stone leaning against the walls and more stacked up in the back. It’s a tough business because everything we handle is so heavy and you have to be careful not to chip the edges. The street is usually busy with trucks and people trying to load up their vehicles. We spend our days showing people different types of marble and explaining how one is different from the other. There’s no fancy air conditioning here; we just have the big doors open and hope for a breeze. The O Block area is a bit crowded, but it’s where everyone comes when they are building something. We have a small desk tucked into a corner where we keep our notebooks and receipts. It’s often covered in a fine layer of white dust from the stones, but that’s just how it is. We’ve been doing this for some time now and we’ve gotten used to the noise of the saws and the heavy machinery nearby. It’s a practical job for practical people who don't mind getting their hands a bit dirty while they work with stone all day long.
