Asha Tiles

Our shop, Asha Tiles, is at 920 Panki Road in Kalyanpur. It’s a busy spot and we have a lot of different tiles stacked up everywhere. When you walk in, you’ll see rows of samples leaning against the walls. It’s a bit of a maze sometimes. Panki Road is always full of vehicles, so there’s a lot of dust that we have to wipe off the tile surfaces every morning. We spend a lot of time showing people different patterns and colors. It’s heavy work, moving those crates around for people to see the bottom pieces. We aren't a big showroom with air conditioning; it’s just a regular shop where we do business. Most of our customers are locals from Kalyanpur or nearby who are building their houses. We talk about the size of the rooms and how many boxes they might need. Sometimes we make mistakes in the count and have to fix it later, but that’s how it goes. We don't have a big team, just a few of us here to help load the trucks. The floor is usually covered in a bit of grit from the tile edges. We just stay open until the last customer leaves. It’s honest work and we like seeing the projects people are working on.
