J.J.Sarees

J.J.Sarees is tucked away in the Shyam Dhan Kripa building, specifically at 49/48 in General Ganj. If you’ve ever walked through General Ganj, you know it’s a maze of narrow lanes and hundreds of shops. Our place is usually filled with stacks of sarees in every corner. It’s a bit of a squeeze when we get a lot of people in at once, but that’s just the way things are in this part of town. We spend our days unfolding and folding fabric, making sure everything is in the right pile. The lighting isn't great, but we’ve got some bright bulbs over the main table so we can see the colors clearly. It’s a noisy place with people shouting outside and the constant rustle of plastic and cloth. We’ve been at this for years, and the routine hasn't changed much. We drink a lot of chai throughout the day to keep going. There isn't any fancy decor here, just wooden shelves and metal racks that have seen better days. We don't really bother with big signs or slogans. Most of our customers are folks who have been coming to this market for decades. We just show them what we have on the shelves and let the work speak for itself. It’s a bit chaotic during the festival seasons, but we manage to stay on top of things as a team.
