Hanuman Metal Industries

Hanuman Metal Industries is located in building number 67/52,C, which is right near the Kanpur Railway Station in the Bhoosatoli area. Being so close to the station means it is always incredibly busy and loud around here. There are rickshaws and carts constantly moving through the narrow streets. Our building is an old one, with thick walls and narrow stairs. We deal with various metal products and the place is usually packed with sheets and rods. It’s a bit of a maze inside. We’ve been operating out of Bhoosatoli for years. The market here is famous for metal, so we are right in the heart of it. We don't have a big corporate sign, just our name painted on the door. Inside, the light isn't great, but we know every corner of the shop. Dealing with metal is heavy, noisy work. We often have to shout to be heard over the sounds of the street and the loading of trucks. The office is just a small wooden desk tucked into a corner where we keep our receipts. It’s a very traditional way of doing business, but it’s what works in Kanpur. We know our neighbors and often help each other out with unloading. It’s a tight-knit community of workers and traders. We stay open late most nights because the market never seems to sleep. It is a gritty, busy life but it is ours.
