G. B. Exports

G. B. Exports is situated in the Nawab Compound, which is part of the Ram Narayan Bazar area. It’s 17/96 if you’re looking for the exact door. The bazar is always noisy with people shouting and carts moving around, so there’s never a dull moment outside. We deal with exports, which means a lot of boxes and a lot of tape. Our space is basically a warehouse with a small corner partitioned off for the desk and the phone. It’s usually piled high with cartons waiting to be loaded onto a truck. Sometimes it’s hard to even find a place to sit down and eat lunch. We don't have fancy office chairs or air conditioning. We just use what we have. Most of our day is spent checking lists and making sure the quantities are right before the labels go on. If a box breaks, we fix it. If a shipment is late, we wait. It’s a lot of waiting and then a lot of rushing. The Nawab Compound has a lot of history, though it looks a bit run down these days. We like being in the heart of the market because everything we need is right there. It’s a practical spot for a business like ours. We don't have a website or anything like that, just our address and our reputation with the people we deal with. It gets dark early in the alleyway, so we try to finish the heavy loading before then.
