We are located over at 88/ 473 in the Coclus Mill Compound. This is in the Dalel Purwa area. It’s an old industrial sort of space, so it doesn’t look like much from the outside. Working out of a mill compound means there is a lot of history in these walls, even if they are a bit rough around the edges. We focus on the food and the kitchen side of things. It’s often loud and the air usually smells like whatever we are cooking that day. We don’t have a lot of corporate polish here. It is more about the cooks doing their thing and the staff getting the plates out. The floor is usually a bit wet from cleaning and the heat from the stoves stays trapped inside during the summer. Finding the right door in the compound can be tricky if you haven't been here before. We spend our shifts prepping ingredients and making sure the ovens are at the right temperature. It’s hard work and your back definitely feels it by the end of the night. We don’t use any big words to describe what we do. We just make food and serve it to the people who come through. Sometimes things get chaotic when it’s busy, but we manage to get through it. It’s just a regular local spot in a busy part of the city where we try to do our jobs well every day.
