Variety Traders

Variety Traders is situated at 40/120 Hospital Road, right in the Parade area. It is a very central spot, so there is always a lot of movement outside. We deal with a whole range of different goods, which is why we picked the name Variety. Our shop is usually packed with items, sometimes from the floor to the ceiling. It can be a bit of a squeeze to walk through the aisles when we get a new shipment in. We have been here for a good while and have seen many other shops come and go. The hospital being close by means there are always people walking past. We open early in the morning and usually do not close until late in the evening. It is a lot of lifting, counting, and talking to customers. We do not have a computer system for everything; a lot of it is still done in ledgers and notebooks. It works for us. The building is an older style, but it is sturdy and keeps the stock dry. Sometimes the noise from the Parade ground can be loud during events, but we are used to it by now. It is just a regular trading business where we try to keep the stock moving and the customers satisfied with what they find. It is honest work and keeps the family going. We just take things one day at a time and focus on what needs to be sold.
