Site 3 in the Panki Industrial Area is a rough and ready kind of place. That is where you will find us at J-17. It’s a part of Kanpur that is always full of trucks and the sound of heavy machinery. Our building isn't much to look at from the outside, just a standard industrial unit, but it serves its purpose. We deal with digital technology work, which feels a bit strange sometimes when you look at the heavy manufacturing going on in the units next to us. The dust from the road gets everywhere, so we have to keep the computers well-protected. Inside, it’s a lot cleaner than the yard. We have a few long tables set up with monitors and cables running everywhere. The lighting is that standard industrial flickering tube light, but we don't mind it. Lunch usually involves someone going out to get samosas from the stall near the main gate. The air in Panki can be heavy with smoke sometimes, but we stay inside most of the day anyway. It’s a hardworking area. Nobody here cares much about appearances. We just focus on getting the technical specs right and making sure the digital files are sorted. It’s a practical workspace for a practical kind of job. We’ve been in Site 3 for a long time now and we know all the other shop owners on our row.
