Pari Katiyar Farmer Producer Companylimited is located in Bakothi Purwa, which is part of the Kanpur Nagar area. We work out of Dinesh Chandra’s place. Kanpur is a busy place, but out here in the village, life moves a bit differently. Our main thing is the farmers in this little pocket of the world. We don’t have a fancy office in the city; we stay right here where the crops are growing. Most of our days are spent checking on the fields or sitting in the shade talking about fertilizer prices. It’s not always easy to get everyone on the same page, but we try. We aren't corporate people with polished shoes. Our boots are usually dirty and our hands are rough. We focus on the practical side of things, like getting the crops moved before the monsoon hits. Sometimes the paperwork gets backed up because we’d rather be outside than sitting at a desk. We talk to people in plain English and don’t bother with any of that marketing talk. If you come by, you’ll probably find us drinking tea and looking over some handwritten notes. We are just a group of locals trying to make sure the farming families in Bakothi Purwa have a bit more security. It’s a slow process, but we’re sticking with it because it’s our home and we care about what happens to the land here.
