We chose to set up in Sardarganj because it’s where we live and where our roots are. The "Mona Singh" name is important to us, and we try to run this company in a way that makes our families proud. We aren't some big anonymous business from the city. We are the people you see at the local market every week. Our office is just a room in house number eight, where we keep our ledgers and talk about the upcoming planting season. It’s a humble setup, but it works for us. We spend a lot of time discussing how to get our produce out of Shahabad Dehat and into places where people will actually pay a decent price for it. It’s a constant struggle to balance the farming with the business side of things. None of us were trained to run a company, so we are learning as we go. There are mistakes sometimes, but we fix them and move on. We don't have a mission statement or anything like that; we just want to work our land and make sure our kids have a future here. It’s honest, difficult work, and we wouldn’t have it any other way. We are just glad to be working for ourselves.
