Mujehara Kalan is where you’ll find us. We’ve been working out of here for a while now, focusing on the organic side of things. It’s not the easiest way to farm, but it’s what we decided to do. The ground feels different when you don’t put all that stuff on it. We spend a lot of time pulling weeds by hand, which isn't fun, but it’s part of the job. The company is basically just a way for us to get our stuff to the markets together. Mujehara Kalan is a small place, so word travels fast. We don’t spend money on advertising. People just see the trucks or stop by the fields. The office is just a room with a desk and some chairs where we drink tea and talk about the rain. Sometimes we argue about which seeds are better, but we usually figure it out. It’s a lot of physical labor and not much rest. We don't have any fancy technology, just the basic stuff we need to stay in touch with buyers. Most of our days are spent in the dirt. It’s a simple setup we’ve got. We aren't trying to change the world, just trying to grow things the way they used to be grown. It’s hard work, but at least we know what’s in our food. We just keep our heads down and do the work that needs doing.
