It is not a shiny glass tower, but it is solid and it is where we do all our work. We have a few rooms filled with desks and piles of papers. We do not spend a lot of time worrying about how the place looks to outsiders. We are more focused on getting through our daily list of things to do. The street outside can be quite loud with the traffic and the local shops, but we have gotten used to the noise over the years. We do not have any big mission statements or marketing slogans on our walls. We just have our calendars and our handwritten notes. We drink a lot of chai here to keep us going, especially during the long afternoons. Sometimes the power goes out, and we just have to wait it out or use the backup, but that is just part of living and working in Uttar Pradesh. We are just regular people who know our business well. We do not try to sound more important than we are. We just want to provide an honest day's work from our little corner of Kanpur. It is a bit crowded and sometimes a bit dusty, but it is our workspace and we like it.
