Meera Devi Inter College

Meera Devi Inter College is located in the Rail Bazzar area of Jhinjhak, which is part of Kanpur. Being near the bazaar means it’s always a bit loud and busy outside our doors, but that’s just part of life in this area. We have students coming from all over the 209302 district to attend classes here. The building has several floors and we have been using them for many years now. It looks a bit worn in places, but it’s a solid place for learning. We focus on the intermediate levels of education, so the students are a bit older and more serious about their studies. The teachers here have a lot of experience and they don't go in for fancy teaching methods; they just stick to the books and the blackboard. We don't have much of a budget for fancy decorations, so the walls are mostly plain. During the breaks, the sound of the trains and the market outside mixes with the noise of students chatting in the hallways. It’s a very practical environment. We don't try to sound like a high-end city school because we are a local college for local people. Most of our staff lives nearby and we've seen many generations of the same families pass through our gates. We just keep the doors open and do our best to help the students pass their exams and move on to whatever is next for them. It is what we do.
