Grt Regency

We are located at 487, Gandhi Road, which is a busy part of Kanchipuram. Being here means we are close to many of the big temples that people come to see. The Grt Regency is a straightforward place to stay. We get a lot of pilgrims and people coming for silk saree shopping. The hotel has been here for years, and it’s a familiar sight for the locals. We have a restaurant that serves local food, and it gets quite busy during the lunch hours. The rooms are simple and functional. We don't try to be anything we aren't. It’s about providing a place to rest after a long day of walking through the temple complexes. Sometimes the street outside is very loud with bells and horns, but that’s just how it is in this town. Our staff are mostly local people who know the temple timings and the best shops to visit. We have a bit of parking space, which is hard to find around here. It’s a solid building, kept clean, and we try to make sure everyone feels welcome. It’s not a five-star experience with marble everywhere, but it’s comfortable and the AC works well on those really hot days. We just keep the doors open and help the travelers as they come through. It is a busy life but we enjoy it.
