Radisson Grt Hotel

If you find yourself on G.S.T. Road in St. Thomas Mount, you’ll see the Radisson Grt Hotel right there at number 531. It’s a busy spot because the road is one of the main ones in Chennai. We’re quite close to the airport, so we hear the planes taking off and landing all the time. It becomes a sort of background noise after a while. The hotel has been here for a good bit, and we’ve seen the city change around us. The weather in Chennai is usually hot and sticky, so we spend a lot of time making sure the air conditioning is actually working like it should. We aren't trying to sell you a dream, it’s just a place to stay and eat. The staff here is a mix of young kids learning the ropes and older folks who have seen it all. We have our routines, from the early morning shift changes to the late-night security checks. Sometimes the kitchen gets backed up when a big group arrives, but we just keep going. We use a lot of local ingredients because it’s easier that way. The lobby can get a bit loud when everyone is trying to check out at once, but that’s just part of the day. We just focus on getting the work done and making sure things are clean and ready for the next person who walks through the doors.
