GKM SUBAMANGALA HOTEL PRIVATE LIMITED

Down here in Kanchipuram, on Rayankuttai Palla Street, we have our little hotel. The address is 12/15A/4. It is one of those narrow streets where you have to be careful when you're driving. We are right in the heart of the town, so you can hear the temple bells if the wind is right. Being in a place like Kanchipuram means we see a lot of people coming for weddings or to buy silk. Our hotel isn't anything spectacular to look at from the outside, but we keep the inside clean. I spend a lot of my time making sure the water tanks are full because it gets very hot here in the summer. We don't have a big restaurant, but we can tell you where to find the best idli nearby. The staff here is mostly family and a few neighbors. We wake up early to wash the front area and put out a small kolam. It’s a lot of work keeping up with the dust from the street. People come in and out all day. Some are just staying for a few hours to freshen up before going to the temple. We don't ask many questions, just provide a place to sit and rest. It’s a busy life but we like being part of the community here. The street stays active until late at night with all the shops around us selling sarees and flowers.
