Gauhati Medical College

The college is tucked away in the Indrapur area of Kamrup. If you’re looking for the post office, you’re basically right there. Being in Assam, we get a lot of rain, and the greenery around the campus grows fast. It’s a bit of a trek to get up here, but the air feels a little different than the middle of town. We’ve got students from all over the North East living in the hostels. It gets pretty loud during the festivals, but otherwise, it’s just the sound of people talking in the hallways. The buildings are a mix of old and new. Some parts look like they’ve seen better days, while others are freshly done. We don't really have a central office that looks like a corporate headquarters. It’s more like a collection of different departments spread out. You spend a lot of time walking from one end to the other. The local market nearby is where we get our snacks and supplies. Life here moves at its own pace. It’s not a fast-moving place like some of the colleges in the south, but we manage. Sometimes the water supply is a bit finicky or the internet goes slow, but everyone just deals with it. It’s a quiet spot in Kamrup where we just try to keep things moving along for the students and the patients who rely on us every day.
