Stree Shakti Farmers Producer Company Limited is mostly just a bunch of us women from around Venkatapuram. We share a space with the Mandal Mahila Samakya because it’s easier that way. If you come looking for us, we are right there in the village, nothing fancy at all. We spend a lot of time talking about the crops and how the prices are changing. It’s not an easy life being a farmer, but doing it together makes it a bit better I think. We don't have a big staff, just local people helping each other out with seeds and selling what we grow. The office is usually a bit messy with paperwork and bags of samples sitting around. Sometimes we have meetings under the trees when it’s too hot inside the building. We don’t use big words or have fancy brochures to show people. We just know our land and what it needs. Every season has its own problems, like too much rain or not enough, and we just deal with it as it comes. It’s a local thing, really. We’ve all lived here our whole lives and we just want to make sure the families here can keep farming. It isn't a corporate setup, just us trying to get by and keep our farms going for our kids.
