Gokulnandana Govinda Farmer Producer Company Limited is based in Martala, operating out of house number 251 which belongs to Digambar Ramrao Dhepe. This is a rural area where life revolves around the fields and the seasons. We are a collective of farmers who decided it was time to work together instead of competing with each other all the time. The name sounds a bit traditional, and that is because we value the old ways of looking after the land and the animals. In Martala, we grow a variety of crops, and everyone has their own small plot of land they look after. By coming together as a producer company, we can help each other out when someone needs equipment or when it is time to sell what we have grown. It is a very grassroots kind of thing. There are no corporate managers or people in suits here. Digambar’s place serves as our main point of contact, and you will usually find a few of us sitting there on the porch discussing the weather or the state of the rural roads. We face the same problems every other farmer in this region faces, like high costs for supplies and the uncertainty of the market price. We just try to make it a bit easier by sharing the burden and the knowledge we have gained over the years. It is honest work, and we don't try to make it sound like anything more than what it is.
