You’ll find Vishnu Rice Company at No. 59 in the New Grain Market at Dhand. Being in the grain market means we are right in the middle of all the action. From early morning, the place is buzzing with farmers and traders. We handle rice, which is the main thing around here. The smell of grain is everywhere. It’s a busy, dusty environment but we are used to it. Our shop isn't fancy. It has bags of rice stacked up and a few chairs for when people come by to talk business. We’ve been in Dhand for a long time. Everyone in the market knows everyone else. It’s a community. We don't really do much besides focus on the rice. Checking the quality, weighing it, and getting it loaded onto trucks. It’s hard work and the hours can be long during the peak season. We don't have a corporate office or a polished image. We are just regular people who know a lot about rice. Sometimes the market is slow and we just sit and have tea. Other times it’s so fast we can barely keep up. We take it as it comes. Dhand is a good place for a rice business. We just stay here and do our part in the market every day. It’s what we know.
