Over in Kailram, we started the Kaithal Mushroom Farmers Producer Company Limited to help out with the mushroom growing here in our area. Our place is at number 18, All Patti. Growing mushrooms is different from regular farming because you need the right shade and moisture, and we’ve been working on that in our village for a long time. It’s a quiet spot, but we stay busy with the bags and the temperatures. The company is basically just a way for us local growers to stay organized and sell our stuff together. We aren't into big speeches or polished ads, we just know how to grow mushrooms well. Sometimes the crop is great and sometimes we have to work a bit harder to keep the temperature right when it gets hot outside. The address in All Patti is where we keep our records and meet to discuss the prices we should be getting. Everyone in Kailram knows where we are if they need to find us. It’s mostly just a few rooms dedicated to the business side of things, keeping the papers in order. We decided to form this producer company because we saw that working alone wasn't getting us very far in the market. Now we can share what we know and help each other out when things get really busy during the harvest. It’s just us, the local farmers, trying to make a go of it with the mushrooms we grow in our own sheds.
