We operate out of Kamalshil Sharma’s place which is in the village of Tola Panch Barhupar. His father is Fanindra Sharma and people in the Mohania block know the family well. It is a quiet spot but we stay busy with the farming business most of the year. We are not some big company from the city. We are just local farmers who wanted to have a bit more control over how our produce gets sold and where we get our supplies from. Sometimes the meetings are just held on the porch because we don’t really need a big conference room. It is more about the talk and the handshake than fancy contracts. We have had some tough seasons lately but being together as a company helps us get through the bad patches. Everyone chips in when there is a lot of work to be done. We focus on what grows best in this soil and try not to overcomplicate things. If you come looking for us you might have to ask a few people in the village because there are no big signs pointing the way. We like it that way because it keeps things personal and honest. It is a practical way to live and work in this part of the world. We are just trying to keep the tradition going while looking out for each other around Mohania.
