Kutch Khedoi Farmer Producer Company Limited is based in Nani Khedoi, which is part of Anjar. We are located on Thakar Mandir Road. It is a quiet part of Kutch, but we stay busy. Virendrasinhpravinsinh Jadeja is the one who looks after the place. Kutch is a hard place to farm because of the weather, but people here are tough. Our office is a simple room near the temple road. You can hear the bells from the mandir sometimes while we are working. We don't have any corporate polish here. It’s just a place where the local khedut, or farmers, come to talk about their work. We try to help everyone get organized. Dealing with the dry soil and the water issues is a daily conversation. Nani Khedoi is a small village, so news travels fast. If something is happening with the company, everyone knows about it pretty quickly. We keep our records in big ledgers and try to stay on top of the government rules. It’s not always easy and sometimes we make mistakes, but we fix them and keep going. We don't have fancy furniture or air conditioning. We just have a ceiling fan and a lot of patience. People stop by on their motorbikes, leave their shoes at the door, and come in to discuss the harvest. It’s a very human way of doing business in a very traditional place. We just focus on the actual work.
