Statue Art And Gallery is located out in the M.I.A. 1st Phase in Basni. It’s an industrial area, so don’t expect a fancy garden or a quiet street. We are right near the Bank of Baroda, which makes it easier for people to find us when they are driving through the industrial zone. This place is much more of a workshop than a real gallery you might find in a city center. We have all sorts of statues and art pieces sitting around on the floor or leaned against the walls. Some of them are finished and ready to go, while others are still being chipped at or polished. There is usually a lot of stone dust or metal scraps lying about the floor. We’ve been at this address for quite a few years now. My brother and I do most of the heavy lifting and the actual work. Moving these big, heavy pieces around takes a lot of effort and sometimes we get a bit behind on our schedule. The sun gets really hot here in Basni, especially in the middle of the day, so we keep the big ceiling fans running all the time. It’s not a corporate office with air conditioning and fancy carpets. We just wear our regular work clothes and get our hands dirty every day. Sometimes the neighbors from the other factories nearby come by to chat or borrow a tool. We don’t have a fancy catalog to show you. You just have to come by the yard and see what we have.
