Shriyade Handicraft Udyog

We have been here at Chakenia Ki Dhani for quite a while now. It is near the Jhalamand Circle, so there is always some noise from the traffic. My father started this because he knew how to work with his hands and we just kept it going. Some days are very hot and the dust from the road gets into everything, but that is just how it is in Jhalamand. We spend most of our time in the workshop area. It is not a fancy place, just where we do our work every day. People sometimes get lost looking for us, but if you find the circle, you are pretty close. We make various items by hand and it takes time. Sometimes the wood isn't right or the tools need sharpening, which slows us down. My brother handles the heavy lifting while I look after the pieces. We don't have a big office or anything like that. It’s just us and the materials we use. We usually start early in the morning before the sun gets too high. By evening, we are tired and just want to head home. There are other shops around too, but we mostly mind our own business. The space is filled with unfinished projects and scraps from old ones. It feels like a second home because we spend more time here than anywhere else. We don’t really do much advertising, mostly people just hear about us from others in the area.
