Roop Narayam Udhyog

Our place, Roop Narayam Udhyog, is situated in Binoda. If you know the area, you know we are right near the Anaj Mandi. Being close to the grain market means there is always a lot of activity starting from very early in the morning. You hear the trucks backing up and the laborers shouting to each other while they load bags. It’s a very grounded kind of place to work. We don’t have a fancy lobby or a receptionist greeting people at the door. Usually, someone is just sitting at a wooden desk with a ledger or a computer. The walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but we haven't gotten around to that yet because the work keeps us busy enough. Binoda is a small enough place where people mostly know each other by name. We deal with whatever needs doing that day, whether it’s checking the machinery or talking to the drivers who come by from the Mandi. The dust from the grain can get everywhere when the wind blows, so we spend a fair bit of time just sweeping up. It’s not a glamorous job, but it’s what we do. Most of our days are long, starting before the sun is fully up and ending when the market starts to quiet down. We just focus on getting the daily tasks finished so we can go home and do it all again tomorrow.
