Saffron Foodz

Our kitchen is located near the new Kohinoor cinema on Chopasni Main Road. If you know Jodhpur, you know the Main Akhliya Circle is the big landmark nearby. It’s a very dusty and busy part of the city, especially with all the traffic coming off the main road. We started Saffron Foodz because we wanted to cook for the local crowd around here. The heat in Jodhpur can be intense, so we spend a lot of time in the kitchen making sure everything is prepped right despite the weather. We aren't a big fancy restaurant with white tablecloths. It’s more of a practical food spot where we focus on the recipes we’ve been using for a long time. The morning starts with getting the spices ready and checking the supplies that come in. It gets really loud outside with the horns and the people at the circle, but inside we just focus on the cooking. We have a small team of cooks and delivery guys who know the streets of Jodhpur pretty well. We don't do much in the way of fancy marketing; people usually just find us because they live nearby or they’ve heard about our food from a neighbor. It’s a lot of hard work, especially during the dinner rush, but we just take it one order at a time. The shop is simple and we keep it that way. Most days we are just busy getting the parcels packed.
