New Raj Beauty Salon

New Raj Beauty Salon is located on Street No. 5 in Mahamandir, right in the Shakti Nagar area of Jodhpur. We are quite close to the Babu Laxman Singh Circle, which is a busy spot where everyone meets up. Jodhpur can get incredibly hot in the summer, so the shop is a place where people can come in and sit under the fan for a bit. It is a local beauty salon, so we do a lot of threading, hair cutting, and basic stuff that the women in the neighborhood need. The shop is not very large, and sometimes it gets a bit cramped when three or four people are waiting at the same time. I try to keep the magazines updated, but usually they are a few months old. We know most of the families around Street No. 5. You can hear the sounds from the circle all day long, the horns and the people shouting, but we are used to it by now. The walls have a few posters and the floor is tile that I scrub every evening. It is just a local business run by people who live here. We do not have a website or anything like that. People just know where we are because we have been here in Shakti Nagar for a long time. It is a simple life and we just take one customer at a time until the sun goes down.
