J D Events is based out of Dau Ri Dhani in the Pratap Nagar area of Jodhpur. It’s a place that feels very much like the heart of the community here. We don't have a glass-walled office in some skyscraper. Instead, we work from this spot where we can actually see and talk to the people we’re helping. Jodhpur is a city that takes its celebrations seriously, so we have our hands full most of the time. We spend a lot of our days coordinating with different people, from tent decorators to caterers. It’s a lot of back-and-forth on the phone and sitting around a table with a notepad. We aren't some polished corporate entity. We’re just local people who know how to get things done in this part of town. Pratap Nagar has its own rhythm, and we’ve been part of it for a long time. Sometimes the office is a bit of a mess with blueprints and fabric swatches, but that’s just how it goes when you’re planning things. We don't really use a lot of fancy talk. We just listen to what people want for their family functions and then we try to make it happen without too much fuss. It’s hard work and the days can be long, especially during the wedding season when nobody gets much sleep. But we like the energy of it all. It’s just us, working hard in Dau Ri Dhani to keep things moving for the families here.
