Villege Inter College

Out here in Jhansi, at the address 284001, we run the Villege Inter College. It’s not a big city school with lots of gadgets. It’s more of a place where the local kids come to finish their studies. The building is simple, mostly concrete and bricks. We have a bit of open space around us, which is nice for when the sun is out and the kids want to sit outside. It gets very hot here in the summer, so we have big fans in every room. The desks are made of wood and have been around for years. We do our best to keep everything in working order. The teachers often walk or cycle from the nearby villages. We don't have a lot of fancy equipment. We rely on the books and the teachers' voices. Sometimes the cows wander near the gate, and we have to shoo them away. It’s a quiet life compared to the big cities. Most of the families here are farmers or have small shops in town. They want their children to learn, so we do our part to help with that. There’s a lot of paperwork involved in running an inter college, and the principal’s office is usually buried under stacks of folders. We just take things one day at a time and keep the school running for the community. We've been here for many seasons now and the building has seen many students pass through.
