Down in Behala, on Avoy Vidya Lanker Road, is where you’ll find us. Kolkata is a city of narrow lanes and old buildings, and our office fits right in. It’s number 2 on the street. It’s a simple setup where a few of us sit and handle the regional tasks for the company. The street outside is usually busy with people going to market or heading home. We don’t have a flashy sign, just enough so people know they’re in the right place. Inside, the ceilings are high and the floors are that old stone type that stays cool in the heat. We spend most of our time on the phone or looking at site reports. There’s always a bit of tea being shared around mid-morning. It isn't a high-pressure corporate environment in the way you might see on TV. It’s more about steady progress and making sure the local logistics are sorted. Sometimes the power goes out, but we just wait it out or find something else to do. We know the regular faces on the street. The office is cluttered with binders and old maps of project sites. It feels lived-in. We aren't here to win any awards for office design. We’re just here to work on the projects that keep the city moving. It’s a practical place for practical people.
